The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that a child's first dental checkup be scheduled by his or her first birthday. This allows your child to become comfortable with the office and to begin to develop a bond with Dr. Powell and his staff. The infant oral health exam provides valuable information about how to take care of your baby's teeth, how to keep them healthy and cavity free, and how to assess normal dental development. At this first visit, we will perform an exam to evaluate your child's dental growth and development. We will also review proper brushing and flossing instructions. We will also discuss bottle and/or sippy-cup use, oral habits, and nutrition information.
Our office provides a fun, laid-back, non-threatening atmosphere for your child. (take a tour here) Our open floor plan concept helps children feel at ease. We have an "open door" policy, meaning parents are ALWAYS welcome back for any cleanings or treatment.
Your child will have a great time at our office, with our iPad bar in the waiting room, chalk wall, and TVs above each dental chair. Your child will also receive a prize from our treasure tower after each visit. Also, every new patient receives a super-soft and stylish Powell Pediatric Dentistry t-shirt!
our fees
Payment for treatment is due at the time of service. If you have dental insurance, we will provide an ESTIMATE of what your insurance will cover, and the estimated amount will be due at the time of treatment. You are responsible for any portion that the insurance company does not cover. For your convenience, we accept payment by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover or Care Credit. Financing options are available through Care Credit, but are subject to approval by Care Credit.
Our New Patient Paperwork can be filled out in the office prior to your child's first appointment. If you choose to fill it out in the office, please arrive 15 minutes early to do so.

We accept all dental insurance plans. As a courtesy to our patients, we will file dental claims to any valid dental insurance company.
